What is an OC-12?
An OC-12 is a type of internet connection. It stands for OpticalCarrier Level 12 which equates to 622.08 Mbps of transfer. This base rate is multiplied for use by other OC-n standards. For example, an OC-3 connection is 3 times the rate of OC-1. OC-12 connections are commontly used by ISPs for smaller, regional or local connections.
