What is a T1?
A T1 is a type of data connection able to transmit a digital signal at 1.544 megabits per second. T1 is often consider the physical media of a DS1 (Digital Signal 1) protocol transmission and it is a widely used standard by telecommunication companies. Previously considered large, they are now becomming antiquated in residential usage as a result of cable and DSL lines.
